A way that inspires you and accompanies you at your own pace
The Pilgrimage Way
The Ignatian Way retraces the route that Ignatius of Loyola followed in 1522 from his hometown of Azpeitia (Euskadi) to the Catalan city of Manresa. This pilgrimage began after his spiritual conversion in Loyola and the holy city of Jerusalem was his final destination.
This route is divided into 27 stages, covering nearly 410 miles (specifically 407.5 miles) across five autonomous communities.

The Cultural Way
The Ignatian Way is much more than a path: it is a journey through a mosaic of cultures, stories and memories woven together over the centuries.
As you travel through each town, you’ll get to discover the monuments, museums, sanctuaries, churches, festivals, local traditions and fairs that make each place unique. Every town contributes its own piece to this story: a traditional festival, a legend, an age-old trade, distinctive architecture or a small everyday tale that brings the region to life.
Experiencing the Cultural Way means connecting with the human essence of the route: a shared past linked to the present through the visitor’s eyes.
The Natural Way
The Ignatian Way crosses a remarkable variety of landscapes, from the Basque mountains to the golden plains of Catalonia. Discover the natural surroundings of each town through activities like community walks, hiking or sporting activities that invite you to explore the beauty of a changing, vibrant, diverse land. The 92 municipalities make up a network linking forests, rivers, vineyards, fields, mountain ranges and protected natural areas to create an experience that encourages you to step away from the fast pace of everyday life.
The Natural Way is, ultimately, an invitation to let yourself be guided by the landscape and to discover how natural diversity unites the territory and makes it an exceptional place to walk, breathe and feel.

The Culinary Way
Getting to know the Ignatian Way also means immersing yourself in a world of flavors. The culinary wealth of its 92 municipalities is extraordinary, shaped by the different climates and cultures in each area.
Food is not just nourishment: it is identity, tradition and hospitality.
Each region along the way contributes its signature products: wines, protected designation of origin products, orchards and gardens, and dishes that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Visitors can enjoy local recipes, taste locally sourced products and discover how cuisine becomes a shared language that connects all the towns along the way.
In this way, the Culinary Way becomes a celebration of the senses, where every municipality contributes its own flavors, aromas and take on cuisine.
